MODBUS ON WINDOWS

A modern Modbus client for Windows

Busloom brings a project-based Modbus workbench to Windows 10 and 11. Start with an unknown serial port or network, prove the route, decode the register map and keep the live values, raw frames, alarms, recordings and tests together instead of rebuilding the setup in separate utilities.

01

Connect through the hardware already on the bench

Use a standard USB–RS485 adapter for Modbus RTU or a normal network interface for TCP and Modbus/TCP Security. Serial-port discovery, RTU parameter probing and bounded TCP/TLS network discovery help narrow an unknown route before you create polling views.

  • Windows 10 and Windows 11
  • Signed x64 installer and Microsoft Store package
  • RTU, TCP and TLS profiles
  • Unit IDs from 0 to 255 where the transport permits them
02

Keep the useful context after the test

A Busloom project stores connection profiles, sources, tags, groups, decoding rules, Trends, alarm definitions, import presets and automation. The JSON project can be reviewed in Git or opened on macOS and Linux without translating the register map into another vendor’s workspace format.

03

Use the desktop app first, automate the proven procedure later

The GUI exposes documentation addresses, zero-based PDU offsets, decoded values and exact TX/RX frames in the same workflow. Professional adds structured scenarios, Lua, CLI/CI and local MCP tools after the manual exchange is understood.

  • Raw traffic correlated with request sources
  • Connection-health and specialist protocol diagnostics
  • CSV, JSON, TSV, PNG and PDF evidence
  • Permanent offline-capable Professional device license
QUESTIONS

Before you connect.

Does Busloom work on Windows 11?+

Yes. Busloom supports Windows 10 and 11 on x64 systems and is available through a signed installer and the Microsoft Store.

Do I need a special RS-485 adapter?+

No. Busloom uses ordinary Windows serial ports, so a conventional USB–RS485 adapter is sufficient.

Can I use Busloom without internet access?+

The protocol workbench is local. Community works offline, and an activated Professional license is verified locally without a heartbeat. Offline activation is available for isolated machines.

Can I hand a project to a colleague using another operating system?+

Yes. The register map, tags and decoding remain in the same .busloom.json format on Windows, macOS and Linux. Select the receiving machine’s serial port when the hardware path changes.
