MODBUS ON LINUX

Modbus diagnostics on a Linux workstation or bench machine

Busloom provides an AppImage for portable use and a DEB package for a conventional installation. Both contain the same native Rust protocol core and React desktop workbench used on macOS and Windows.

01

Choose the package that fits the machine

Use the DEB on Debian or Ubuntu systems where you want desktop integration and package-managed installation. Use the AppImage when you want a self-contained artifact or do not control the system package database.

02

Serial access is still an operating-system concern

Busloom can list available ports, but Linux permissions still decide whether the process can open them. Confirm the device path and the user’s serial-port group membership before diagnosing a silent RTU device.

  • RTU over system serial ports
  • TCP and TLS over standard networking
  • Projects portable across operating systems
  • CLI activation flow for machines without a desktop environment
03

Virtual machines need honest expectations

USB passthrough and accelerated WebKit rendering depend on the hypervisor and guest image. Prove the adapter and graphics stack separately before using VM behavior as evidence of a device or Busloom protocol problem.
